  • Is it here yet!?

Being at college has made me look forward to lots of things.  The main reason for this is most likely the fact that I am "on my own" now.  Which means that the things I do could be the stupidest things ever or the best things ever.  It really is my choice to decide if I really want to do stuff.  So a list of things to look forward to:
    • Halloween.
SB is famous for this.  It's so famous that our dorms get locked down, meaning that we can't have guests come over.  If we do, and they are caught, we are going to be put on probation.  My roommates described Halloween as a "second Christmas" but with lots of drunk, slutty dressed girls all over.  Another person said it was like a Mardi Gras, people parading in costumes, just do all this crazy shit.  I'm not sure I want to drink, but I want to witness it.
    • UCSD Trip with Jennifer D..
It is going to cost me $66 for a round trip from SB to SD.  Which isn't too bad.  I've never been to SD, so it'll definitely be a nice change of scenery, especially with the 6 different colleges and shit over there.  I get to see some good friends!  Van, Delys, Simon, and Tiff are the ones that come to mind.  I'm not looking to the 5 Hour, 41 Minute train ride though.  And that's only one way.  So I am going to basically spend one half of my weekend on a train.
    • Thanks-FUCKING-giving (weekend)!
This is probably the thing I am stoked for most!  I know it's so cliche and shit to be thankful for friends, but when you haven't seen some people for a while, I could care less about that cliche.  So much is to happen!  I can hardly contain my excitement!  A feast!  Black Friday!  Other hang outs!  Of course, kinks have to be worked out  but the idea is still there!  Thanksgiving may turn out to be my favorite holiday this year, I might even jizz in my pants.
    • Secret Santa (Christmas).
It's a little tiny thing, but I can't wait to see how it plans out!  I don't care about the presents, but watching as people open them, I think it's gonna be surprisingly fun.  Their reaction, the first thoughts as they start unwrapping, all the people watching, all of it!  Since it's Secret Santa, I would think that we're gonna have a sort of Christmas party.  So I am eagerly waiting as the date comes closer.    (I would love something autographed by Jessica.    *Hint Hint*)
    • New classes/End of this quarter.
I'm not dying this quarter, far from it, but Jesus, Writing 2 is the worst class ever, that it just makes everyday terrible.  Since it begins in the morning, my Tuesdays and Thursday are auto boring.  And the rest of the days are spent doing HW at the night for Tuesday and Thursday.  Craptacular!  I swear that I will pick out a good schedule.  If not, I will sock someone (I wish it were my Writing 2 Instructor!) in the face.  I'm most likely for sure gonna take Asian American Studies.  Yay.  Asians.    Unless they don't offer it during the Winter...
    • This Thursday.
I am going to do it!  She had to have on earphones today!  Just had to!    Damn it!
    I CAN HARDLY WAIT!

  • Writing can go fuck a duck.

You would think that a Writing class would teach you how to develop your skills in writing, but how do you develop those skills if all you do is peer edit and proofread!?  Proofreading and peer edits are just suggestions!  And suggestions ARE not techniques, damn it!  They're just opinions!
Seriously, it doesn't make sense to me at all.  You can't get better at something if you aren't taught at how to be better at it!  I would have found learning how to do a "Works Cited" to be interesting...IF I DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW!  I'll give the instructor, Shannon (yeah, she tells us to call her Shannon), credit though because it at least the Works Cited is something definite, nothing we have to guess or wonder.
I mean, I know the basic stuff of writing.
    • Intro
    • Body paragraphs
    • Conclusion
    • Thesis
    • Main point of each paragraph
    • Supporting details with citations
    • and the list goes on
But what's the point if my writing doesn't get any better?  Really, I know it's college but all you (Shannon) told the class is that is that you want a fucking 4 page paper that compares and contrasts 2 out of the 4 stories we just read?  You also wanted it to have an Intro and a Conclusion with a good Thesis?  That's awesome!  Now can I ask you for just one tiny thing?  Instead of just reading your book for 40 minutes as we "proofread and edit," can you freakin' teach me something useful, so I don't feel like I'm wasting my money for my education!?

  • 10 "Don't you hate it when..."s

    Don't you hate it when...
...people are so energetic when you just want to do your own thing?
...people smell like alcohol, come up to you, and speak their complete mind with topics such as "The Chinese Government fucking sucks" and "My mom is Irish?"
...black people come out of their music blasted room and dance right in front of you when you are trying to leave the building, forcing you to say "Um, excuse me? *Gives hidden disgusted look as you exit*?
...you have to wait 1-2 minutes for a bike trail to have a small gap just so you can walk across?
...you have a big window in your room, and a friend calls you to say that they are watching you, making you turn to your left, looking through your window, seeing them on their bike, looking at you with the "rape look?"
...you have your door open and people come in asking you to vote for them as some representative even though you know nothing about them and don't give a shit about it or them whatsoever?
...you see Dwang riding a bicycle?
...a person with fabulous cursive sends you a love letter saying that their heart burns for you like the fire of a thousand golden suns without knowing who they are?
...you find out the person who wrote that letter is named "Todd?"
...you get a friend mad and feel like shit?

    Tomorrow, 10 "Don't you love it when..."s!

Just some stuff on my mind that I feel like blogging about.
    • On my "Steps to Enrollment," it says that my UCSB Fees have been paid for.  So I assume my Financial Aid stuff went through!  That is totally bomb.  It's a big weight off my shoulders!
    • Alhambra's Renaissance Movie Theater can go shove a long slippery popsicle shaped object up their ass!  Not only do they have a shitty list of movie selection, one of their workers needs to grow a pair.  I don't wanna go into details, but yeah.  WORST.  THEATER.  EVER.
    • I know it's retarded of me, but I wonder if people play Yu-Gi-Oh! cards in college.  If they do, I just found my new (refreshed) hobby.
    • It feels good to treat my good friends out.  I mean, even if it's for something small like some dessert.
    • I feel like picking up MapleStory again.  But if I do, I'll be obsessed with trying to be godly.  I probably won't start again, but you never know.  And doing so in college might be more fun since it'd be more casual because I would prioritize important stuff first.
    • I absolutely hate school pride.  I think it's ridiculous.  Sure, one school is better, but what difference does it make?  You're just showing off by saying "GO *Whatever you mascot is!" or "*Whatever initials your college of choice goes by.*"  Jesus Christ, stop trying to promote your school and do something more useful.  School Pride...that's bullshit.  It's more like "I think my school is better than yours" pride.
    • I think girls playing basketball is awesome (No, it's not because of Tonia or Aimara.)  I saw two of my cousin's friends.  They were together, and the girl can play ball, the guy too.  It was cute seeing them play one-on-one, and HORSE.  They would make fun of each other and junk.  I think having that similarity in playing basketball (or any sport) makes a relationship more fun.  It just gives them another thing to do.  Like they could play at a park then just lay down on a blanket in the shade and sleep.  Ah!

  • For the win...or not.

Verizon Store: The Wonder Girls had a Verizon Store Event, and I opted to go to that, even though I knew I would see them as a FAN*TASTIC. From other Fan Accounts, I read that they would only sign one thing. I told my friend that I would get her one. So going to the Verizon Event would be a "smart" thing to do, or so I thought. I brought the cake along, but that was a bad idea. When I got there, the line to meet them was already a block long. It wasn't hot, but I stayed in the shade as much as possible to keep the cake safe, just in case I wouldn't meet them. And that was case. (Though they stayed for 40 minutes longer than they needed to).

    Post-Verizon Store:
The meeting for the FAN*TASTICS start at 8:45 PM, so I had 5 hours to kill. LA is a cool place to explore, so it wasn't too bad. But since I couldn't get the cake to them, I needed a way to keep it cool. So I bought a basket and filled it with ice. I took the subway to Staples Center, and just waited it out. There were so many Jonas Brothers fans, it wasn't even funny!

    Staples Center:
The Staples Center staff is terrible. They didn't know about the Wonder Girls FAN*TASTICS and thus made it impossible to explain that I was here for that. I eventually met up with a few other FAN*TASTICS (no need to get into that). 8:45 came.

    Meeting the girls:
Hana came, she is really cool. Blackberry with the list of people who made it. She is tech-savy! We got wristbands. Then we just waited until the girls were ready. It took 45 minutes. Hana told us they were behind schedule, so all they had time for would be a photo. We were ALL disappointed to hear such a thing. What made it worse was that we had to take it in groups of 2 or 3. When they showed up, they were in their gold dresses. They were gorgeous. We started singing the "Nobody" chorus, and YeEun and SunYe, did the clap, clap, point to us! When it was my group's turn I gave them my cake, they were like "CHEESECAKE!? Thank you so much!" Then my group and I went down the line and hugged all of them. They said "hi, nice to meet you." Then we got ready for our Photo-Op picture. We gave the staff our camera so that we could have our own. I used a Polaroid (because I hoped that I could get it signed at the end of the Meet and Greet of the concert). Then it was over. That's it.

    After meeting the girls:
We passed out fliers. It was really annoying watching some people not even taking the fliers. There was one account where I passed it to a little boy, and he was like "EW, Wonder Girls!" and threw it back in my basket full of fliers. But there was this one woman, that said their music was AWESOME, and that if we could talk to them, tell them that. She even asked about the Nobody single and their Korean CDs, how she could get them, etc. She even asked for extra fliers. She made being a FAN*TASTIC worthwhile.

Finishing the fliers: All of us FAN*TASTICS were not satisfied, because we saw the Meet and Greet through the doors, at the end. And the Staples staff just wouldn't let us through! So, we went to the closest door and started chanting, "LET US IN!" And eventually Hana came out and said, we could take one last photo, but no autographs. We were fine with that because we never got our pictures with them individually. But as Hana was letting us in, they ended the whole thing. So we weren't able to get that last picture. But the Wonder Girls saw us and waved one last time.

Final thoughts: It was REALLY disappointing as a FAN*TASTIC, because we got nothing. If we bought concert tickets, we could have just gone to the end of the concert's Meet and Greet and have gotten the same treatment. We didn't get CDs or T-Shirts, and worst of all, NO AUTOGRAPHS! As a fan, I got to meet them and get a picture! But even if I just saw them at that concert, I could have done the same at the end of the Meet and Greet. The other FAN*TASTICS were awesome though. I rate my experience a 6.5/10. All I really wanted was an autograph. I don't blame the girls for it, it was just a time thing.
